Perempuan Indonesia Deklarasikan IWAG Peace

Denpasar (ANTARA News)- Perempuan Indonesia dari berbagai latar belakang profesi, agama, suku bangsa dan warna kulit, bersatu mendekrasikan “Indonesian Women`s Association for Global Peace (IWAG-Peace)”,  suara perempuan bagi perdamaian. Acara itu  dilakukan secara serentak pada empat kota besar di Indonesia.

“Pendeklarasian IWAG-Peace di Bali, Yogyakarta, Surabaya dan Jakarta itu dilaksanakan dengan memanfaatkan momentum Hari Valentin, atau hari kasih sayang,” kata Putu Sri Puji Astuti W SS, koordinator kegiatan tersebut, di Denpasar, 14 Februari 2011.

Ia mengatakan, pendekrarasian IWAG-Peace di Bali dilaksanakan di Monumen Perjuangan Rakyat Bali (Bajra Sandhi) di kawasan Niti Mandala Renon Denpasar, Senin petang (14/2).

Kegiatan tersebut sekaligus menunjukkan kasih sayang kepada ibu pertiwi dan seluruh umat manusia yang tidak dibatasi oleh sekat-sekat perbedaan agama, keyakinan, ras, suku bangsa maupun warna kulit.

“Kita semua bersaudara. Perbedaan dapat diatasi dengan cara yang lebih beradab melalui hukum yang berlaku, dan melalui kesadaran itu diharapkan tidak ada lagi aksi anarkisme, premanisme dan brutalisme,” ujar Putu Sri Puji Astuti.

Ia menambahkan, kegiatan IWAG-Peace, suara perempuan bagi perdamaian, antara lain akan menyuarakan perlunya segera dihapuskan tindak kekerasan yang selama ini masih terjadi di bumi pertiwi.
“Perempuan Indonesia yang juga ibu atau calon ibu, tidak bisa membiarkan anak-anak ibu pertiwi saling bunuh-membunuh satu sama lain,” ujar Putu Sri Puji Astuti menandaskan.

Ia menjelaskan, anak-anak ibu pertiwi harus bersatu dengan tanpa harus membedakan agama dan keyakinan yang dipeluknya.

“Sebagai perempuan yang melahirkan anak-anak dengan beragam keyakinan, kini saatnya harus bersuara keras untuk menghindarkan mereka terlibat dalam aksi-aksi kekerasan terhadap sesamanya,” ujar dia dengan suara lantang.

Hal itu perlu dilakukan, lanjt dia, mengingat sejarah dunia telah membuktikan, bahwa kekerasan tidak dapat dilawan dengan kekerasan, tapi dengan kelembutan dan kasih sayang.
“Kaum perempuan dianugrahi Tuhan kelembutan. Secara kodrati, ini adalah senjata yang jauh lebih ampuh dari senjata jenis apapun dalam menghadapi aksi-aksi kekerasan,” tutur Putu Sri Puji Astuti. :: 14/02/2011/AntaraNews/Editor: Aditia Maruli

In respectfully, seeing the violence for the sake of violence occurred on our Motherland, we as women which are also the mother or prospective mother can not allow our children to kill each other. They are our children, the children of the Motherland regardless of Religion, Belief, Race, Ethnicity, Color, and their Profession. We as women must speak out more loudly to avoid more of our children perform various acts of violence, brutality, and thuggery. Violence can not be opposed with violence; only with tenderness then violence can be eliminated. And have the grace of God we are naturally endowed with softness, that our weapons are far more powerful than any weapon to confront the violence.

In the history of this nation, the revolution is always escorted by women. Considering the great potential and role of women to achieve global peace, then we will declare the women’s movement that aims to campaign for peace in a variety of real action. We will continue to fight aginst violence in order to make it become no longer a matter that seems fair in this country, it is the time  for countryman to re-hear the voice of conscience so that not letting the violence happen. We will make efforts not only corrective but also preventive measures through education to the community that are not easily provoked. In addition, we will bring this issue out of the country for the international community to get clear information about any human rights violations particularly in the form for further violence to put pressure on the government to eradicate all acts of violence committed by certain groups.

We are Indonesian women from various backgrounds Religion, Ethnicity, Skin Color, and Professionals come together to state unequivocally and with full awareness that “VARIOUS FORMS OF VIOLENCE IN ANY REASONS IS A VIOLATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS, THEREFORE THAT WE, WOMEN AS THE STATGE PILLARS ARE AGREE TO TAKE A REAL ACT IN DEALING THE VIOLENCE WITH OUR TENDERNESS BECAUSE WE BELIEVE THAT VIOLENCE CAN ONLY BE ELIMINATED WITH A TENDERNESS”

We will continue to fight aginst violence in order to make it become no longer a matter that seems fair in this country, it is the time for countryman to re-hear the voice of conscience so not letting the violence happen. We will make efforts not only corrective but also preventive measures through education to the community that we are not easily provoked. We will build partnerships with various parties; especially other women’s movement is also concerned with global peace. In addition, we strive to bring the issue of domestic violence to the international community if the government can not acts firmly and quickly to the international community so that we can get clear information about any violations of human rights for the next step to put pressure on the government to eradicate any action violence perpetrated by groups or any party on our Motherland.
